The picturesque town of Torquay has a museum and three excellent theatres with regularly changed programmes. Torquay is the home town of Agatha Christie and there is an exhibition exploring her life in the local museum. You can also visit her house near Kingswear or view her estate from the River Dart, a very pleasant outing. Oscars Lodge is ideally situated for heading out and about exploring the beauty of Torbay, with over 22 miles of unspoilt coastline, 18 beaches, secluded coves, and the spectacular, rugged scenery and peaceful solace of Dartmoor National Park.

During the summer months regular entertainments include the Torquay Regatta, Tall Ship Races, Power Boat Racing, Firework Displays, Red Arrows Display Team and the Traditional Sea Side Fun Fair which visits Torquay Seafront.

If you would like to use public transport to visit the tourist attractions in Torbay and South Devon the train station and bus stop are all within easy walking distance. There is also a land train for easy access to the town centre and sightseeing trips with a stop only 100 yards from the front of our Guesthouse in Belgrave road.

The tourist region of Torbay is made up of the three towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. The resort attracts visitors of all ages and interests throughout the year. Torbay boasts a diversity of atmosphere, entertainment and amenities and with a micro climate all of it's own, you'll find Torbay's 22 miles of coastline, cliffs, beaches and walks are some of the best in England.

The English Riviera is not only a place to relax and soak up the atmosphere but also to take part in many exciting activities such as Jet Skiing, Diving, Fishing and all sorts of sporting activities. The night life is superb, whether you're looking for a romantic evening meal or a night on the town. Torbay has something to suit all and of all ages, including: The Princess Theatre, Babbacombe Theatre, Kents Cavern, Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts, Babbacombe Model Village, Paignton Steam Railway and Splash Down Quay West Water Park.
